Weak sounds

Hi:

I have seen a number of people having problems with
sound volumes. In my case, it is simply a matter
of typing 
   aumix -v 75
(say) in any shell to get it audible (set volume to 75%
I guess).  For some reason, the default volume is low
right after booting.  This can probably be fixed permanently
by adding a pre-install line in the conf.modules file.
