[Sound] Yamaha 740

Hey there,

I have a Yamaha 740E sound card with a OPL-SA3 synthesizer.  Ive been 
trying to get it to work with the native ymfsb driver, but with very little 
success.  When I use sndconfig and get to the part where it plays the 
sample sound, the speakers "crackle" and then the machine freezes and the 
only solution is to powerdown.  When booting up, the sound card is found, 
but then an error message appears, saying something to the effect of, 
"Resource busy or in use by another device".

Im fairly new to linux, so I may just be overlooking something 
obvious.  Does anybody know what my problem is?  Thanks a lot,
