I posted this question question to the redhat-list a little while ago,
but I just subscribed to this list, so I can ask here :)

Subject: emu10k1 question
My friend has a fresh install of RH 6.2 (thanks to me) but his
emu10k1 (SB Live) isn't functioning. The module (the one supplied with
kernel 2.2.18) is compiled in, but no go. So I figured he just needs to
pass some kernel parameters.. problem is, I'm not sure of the format of
the emu10k1 parameters. Plus, the only information we have is something to
the effect of: under DOS/Windows (bleh), the board sat on something like
0xe400 or whatever it was... and IRQ 11.
Questions:
1) Is the driver from kernel 2.2.18 sufficient? or
2) is there something better we can dig up? (directions please) :)
3) What is the format of the parameters if we end up having to pass them
4) What are the defaults for the board as far as io, dma, irq, etc goes
(or whatever values we might need)
5) He'll be satisfied just getting the 16bit portion working to listen to
his MP3s, but are there some other things we can do to get *everything*
working? ;)
6) Basically, I'm just saying "Help!" :P
I have a SB16 and it works fine with 2.2.x, and even with 2.4.x (after
passing kernel parameters) but I have about the easiest card to get
working. This emu10k1 thing seems funky.
Ideas? Thanks!
