[Sound] Request for the sound card driver

Recently I installed Linux 7 on my pc.
Compaq Presario 7500 M2
Compaq MV 520 Monitor
810e with FSB 133 8MB display card (onboard),
ESS Allegro 1 sound card (onboard).
The sound card is not supported.

When ever I use sndconfig to configure the sound card 
the message is "ESS ALLegro 1 found"
next "This card is not supported"...

I am not happy to see that the RedHat Linux which is
the 
biggest source for Linux is not able to support the
sound 
card that is present on the worlds #1 chipset makers
INTeL
motherboard and shipped by the worlds best computer
maker Compaq.

The worst thing is, a claim is made that it supports
all i810 based sound cards.But it is not so.

I still have many queries and doubts about hardware
support.
