but as i said, for the kernal i am using.  there is no such target for
/lib/modules/linux-2.4.18-24.8.0/build/configs/ does not exist because build is there but it is a broken target symlink and there is no /usr/src/linux-2.4.18-24.8.0/ to link to.

/lib/modules/linux-2.4.18-14/build/configs/ is there.  should i use this config file for the new kernel?  but it is from the old one, so it will probably not be appropriate.

In RedHat, you need to copy your kernels config file

/lib/modules/(kernel version)/build/configs/

to

/lib/modules/(kernel version)/build/.config

Just copy and rename it. And than run the "make" command
for the drivers.
