athlon kernel problems and taroon

Hi all,
A while back I saw a posting that the athlon kernel and athlon systems
do not play well together. In fact I see numerous segfaults when I install
the athlon kernel. So many in fact that I cannot get the machine up long
enough to install the i686 kernel. To work around this I have installed the
i686 kernel from the %post in kickstart. This works and the machine is stable.
the problem is now I have no way to tell if there is an updated athlon kernel
on rhn. 

So my question is, is there a way to see ALL errata available for
taroon even if it is not installed on my system? If so how? In addition is
there a way to force up2date to allow me to pick the arch??

One more question is there a way to tell anaconda I want the i686 kernel
installed on my athlon system??
