I have successfully (as far as I can tell) installed at least the mid tier
of 9ias on an unmodified version of RedHat 9, with not too much hacking,
so it is possible. My guess is that either Oracle will provide patches to
do something similar, or maybe version 9.0.4 of 9ias which should appear
in the next couple of months will support RHEL 3.
