Some people would rather have one build (the size isn't really much
different at all) that contains everything so that when you create and
test applications on your desktop/workstation you know for certain that it
will work and behave the same way it did there as it will on your server
running AS. They only way to know for sure that will be the case is to
have a true everything install.
Let me offer one explination where *I* might want all packages on AS:
LTSP - while K12 institutions will probably stick to RHLP, those
corporations who realize the cost benifit of deploying a single Red Hat
ES/AS machine and 100 diskless workstations, but want to do so on an
enterprise product with it's enhanced support and longevity would
probably want to use Red Hat ES/AS - since I'm not sure the WS product
would be suitable for serving 100 users in this fashion - though I'm
sure it could probably be done.
Now if I were to use AS as the platform, but didn't have access to OOo
(not to mention a current version like 1.1), my user base probably
wouldn't accept this type of deployment unless I opted to build custom
packages (which would then lose the benefit of it's support).
Just some food for thought,
