We need to determine what kind of NIC you have/what modules are being
loaded. I assume this is an Ethernet network... We need to make sure
all the components (switches, hubs, routers, NICs) are all set to the
same speeds (10/half or 100/full typically).
"mii-tool" may or may not support your card/module. It will give you
some details about how your card is currently set. When you have
problems, leaving things to 'auto-negotiate' isn't always a good thing.
'netstat -i' might indicate that you are counting TX or RX errors.
What are the other machines running? Same OS & NIC?
