I'll report these when I get into work on Monday.  RHEL3 is the shipping 
i686 smp-kernel since there isn't any updates yet.  RHL9 kernel was 
2.4.20-20.9smp i686.

I'll run tiobench and bonnie++ on each kernel, attach a file with the 
output, or better yet, put the file on our public webserver and post a 
link to it.

I'll give that a try.  I have tried the module source that LSI has for 
download, but it resulted in the same slow speeds.
