missing driver in the AMD-64 version of AS3...

I was wondering if anyone knows about this:

Installed AS3 on an IBM AMD-64 machine with a servRAID 6M card...

The installer does not see the card at all (although it is seen, read
and checked sucessfully by BIOS). I tried installing using the noprobe
option, and when I got to the part about loading modules, there was no
ips.o selection.

So, I installed without the servRAID driver using the internal hard
disk. After installing, I have noticed that there is no ips.o module in
/lib/modules/<kern version>/kernel/drivers/scsi/ at all, but there is
source code in /usr/src/linux-2.4

What happened here? The ips module loads sucessfully on the x86
installs, but not on the AMD 64 version. And I know both the cards
work, as the were also used in three other test machiens sucessfully.

Otherwise, could someone tell me how to compile the ips.o module alone
without going through the trouble of a complete kernel recompile??

Cheers
Jeff
