Hi all,
I've got some dual-AMD64 boxes hooked up to some big disk arrays, and I
was expected Enterprise 3 to support large (>1TB) block devices on 64bit
platforms.
That doesn't seem to be the case
correct.
Are there any plans to remedy this? Large disk support is one of the
main reasons we own AMD64 systems, and I really hoped an Enterprise
distribution like RHEL would support this.
With modern RAID enclosures, it's very easy to go over 1TB, and it makes
disk management much simpler to do so. As disk densities increase, it's
going to quickly become tough NOT to have 1TB+ arrays.
Is this something large enough that it'll have to wait until RHEL4 at
the earliest? Or is it possible in an Update to expect this functionality?
Thanks!
Don
