Much more than that, you must test, test, test. You have not offered
any information regarding your use of any specific applications. If you
use Apache 1.3, for example, with 2.1, you can't expect everything to
work magically if you run a upgrade to 3.0 with Apache 2.x.
I never trusted upgrades with any operating system and chose to
reinstall from scratch every time.
