I did try that with the UP kernel: that didn't change anything.
I did not try it again with the SMP kernel I'm using now (on a
non-HT P4 system), but I need all 6 interfaces anyway, so I'm
now focusing on the "Invalid argument" ioctl() using ifconfig.
