Run for a new kernel install (was: Forgive the rant...but)

... and all of them need to know if the kernel has changed since their
last run. How about doing it the other way around by having a script
or series of scripts a la /etc/profile.d be run from %post of a kernel
RPM ? (and eventually from %preun as well)

The script would only run when the kernel RPM is installed and would
give the possibility of running any extra commands, like compiling a
new version of the NVidia driver or installing an existing RPM
(although locking of the RPM database has to be considered here).
Therefore, there would be no need for such init scripts to keep track
of kernel versions.
