Just as a counterpoint: I'm running RHEL 3 ES on a Penguin Computing
Altus (dual Opteron, although I'm running the x86 RHEL) with LSI 53c875
SCSI adapter and a Compaq TL891 (dual DLT drive) library, and I don't
have any problems with the hardware or OS (I'm using Arkeia for the
network backup software, and I'm still working out a few "kinks" since
upgrading to 5.2).
