64 bit network counters?

Is there a way to get 64 bit network device counters (at least for
bytes) and make them available via SNMP under RHEL 3?

I monitor my server network interfaces with Cricket via SNMP, and
monitoring high-traffic interfaces with 32 bit counters every 5 minutes
causes lots of lost information.  I can monitor more often, but it would
be better for the servers to offer the 64 bit counters.
