I have an Adaptec 39160, and need to know if RHEL ES V3 U4 supports it.
The aic7xxx driver should drive it.
I chuckled when I saw your nickname of 'spot' - that's the name of the
server I'm installing the card in. :)
I put the card in, and my Dell 2650 ses the card as it's booting, and
the IBM ULTRIUM-TD2 tape drive attached to it. Kudzu noticed the card
and I told it to configure it (it actually saw it twice - once for each
channel, perhaps?). But when I do an lsmod, it didn't show the aic7xxx
module loaded. So, I did an 'modprobe aic7xxx' and it loaded the module.
However, lsmod shows it as unused (is that right?), but now when I cat
/proc/scsi/scsi I seethe tape drive listed.
Should an lsmod show it as unused? If not, what's wrong and how do I fix
it? Also, how do I get the aic7xxx module to automatically load at boot
time? It's in /etc/modules.conf:
alias scsi_hostadapter1 aic7xxx
TIA,
