I don't think it'd be possible to have FC1 and RHEL3 use the same
$HOME/.gnome without a mountain of headaches. However, you may be able to
get RHEL3 or FC1 to use $HOME/gnome-2.2 and $HOME/gnome-2.4. Your
settings won't be synced between RHEL3 and FC2 but you will at least be
able to use the same $HOME. Look out for other apps that have similar
issues. Mozilla comes to mind... You could just update RHEL3 to the same
Mozilla version as FC1 (1.6?).
