Hi all.
Further to my post dated 220604 and the reply from John Morris dated the same day.
It looks like the new NVidia driver [http://www.nvidia.com/object/linux_display_ia32_1.0-6106.html ] seems to have fixed the problem I was experiencing [http://www.redhat.com/archives/taroon-list/2004-June/msg00327.html].
I originally posted in reply to the post of Brett Morrow [http://www.redhat.com/archives/taroon-list/2004-April/msg00352.html].
To be clear, the machine doesn't hang now. The example OpenGL crasher program seg faults (as intended) and dumps core correctly. I am not setting NvAGP anymore, so it will use the default (Option "NvAGP" 3 in XF86Config). This appears to be very good news.
I'd advise anyone who has had similar problems to try updating to the newer NVidia driver.
Shannon.
