Concur with recommendation to stick with Red Hat's packages unless there
is some specific need not being met. It makes life much easier in terms
of updates, support, etc.
That said, if you do need third party packages, a good source is
http://dag.wieers.com/home-made/apt/ . I'm sure there are others.
You might also checks some of the RHEL-rebuild projects (White Box, Tao,
etc.) to see if they have additional packages, which should usually be
compatible with RHEL.
