Re: Nexsan ATABeast feedback?

I have 7 of the ATA boy's here at my site, and one of the other
facilities we work with have an ATA Beast. We have quite a few of the
others, but Nexsan was able to give us a much better deal per tb than
any other vendor. We've been pleasantly surprised with both
performance and reliability.

We've had no problems with them. Just remember, the appliance is as
reliable as the drives you put in em. I'd recommend a bunch of 250GB
Hitachi's, the Western Digital's 250GB have been a joke. in terms of
stability.

The system is configurable via a web interface or serial port, I
recommend the serial port myself because it's easier and faster. In
addition, you can disconnect and come back when it's already formatted
and start off where you left off.

I'd contact Nexsan or a few other vendors about getting a demo unit
and seeing which one fits your space/capacity/config requirements.
