Re: yum and RHEL interopability issues



See the version of yum that ships with Tao Linux, with the 'protectbase'
patch.  You pretty much describe here the exact functionality.  Note:
README.protectbase is correct wrt how it works; but man yum.conf has the
correct yum.conf parameters.  (protectbasesystem=1 to turn it on in
[main], basesystem=1 in repos to differentiate base from non-base
repositories.)
