IMHO, Red Hat won't provide support for SUN's Java because it's not
coming with RHEL.

Sun's Java is just a regular non-privileged application. A non-privileged application should never be able to cause a kernel panic. If it can, that's serious security flaw at the very least. So if Sun's Java (running as non-root) causes a kernel panic, that's a problem in the *kernel*, which Red Hat does support (assuming you are actually running Red Hat's kernel).
