SSH2 Question

Greetings:

I just made the leap from RHL 7.3 and installed Taroon. Things
are going well except:

My ftp clients (Cute FTP Pro and VanDyke SecureFX) have problems
connecting to the server. I see these lines in /var/log/secure:

sshd[1955]: Accepted password for xxxx from xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx port 1670 ssh2
sshd[1958]: refused connect from 127.0.0.1 (127.0.0.1)

According to SecureFX, authentication is successful but then the
connection closes almost immediately.

I have VanDyke Secure CRT -- and I *can* establish a remote ssh1 connection
with the server just fine:
sshd[1774]: Accepted password for xxxx from xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx port 1639

I have not changed any client settings in SecureFX nor Cute FTP, and
everything worked fine in RHL 7.3.

Any suggestions on what to look for to get SSH2 working?
