Palm sync with Evolution or Kpilot usb

Hi.
Has anyone managed to get a palm device (mine is the M515) to sync using
the UBS cradle?
If so what did you do.
I'm a GUI user mainly but not too frightened to "look under the hood"
if talked through what is required.
The device shows under the USB section of the KDE control panel if the
hot sync button is pressed before the section is selected.
I have had the device sync using the serial cable but it's a pain
carrying it around when there is a cradle plugged in to the machine.
Also I forget to bring the lead with me.
If this has been covered before point me to the thread but a Google
search did not show anything conclusive.
