Re: Cluster stonith hardware recommendations

Many thanks - the WTI-230 look's good, so I'll probably start hunting that :D

Out of curiosity, the gui-interface accepts two power-controler's per member. Is this in cases where two seperate controler's are used for the same host (and both are killed at the same time in the case of a failed node?) Or is it something for bugzilla? :-)

Hi all,

I've been tasked with the job of building a HA web cluster, and seem relatively happy with the job clumanager in rh 3 AS does. I'm happy with the concept of what stonith hardware is, and what it does, I'm just after a few recommendations on what to get :-)

We're hoping to go for 4xDell 2650's in the cluster, which should be feed from a raw main's supply to the machine room, and a ups supply for the room.

I stuck a full list of clumanager-supported power switches in this bugzilla (I know, it's not the right place for it, but at least it's there):

http://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=116122

WTI NPS-115 (8 ports, 4 ports on 2x15A power buses, 2U), IIRC this is
supported by GFS as well.
WTI TPS-2 (2 ports, 15A, 2U)
WTI IPS-15 (1 port, expandable to 5, 15A each port, 3 fit in a 1U, I
think)
WTI RPS-10 (serial, 2 node clusters only, 2 fit in a 1U)
APC MasterSwitch AP9211, 9212, 9225 (network mode only) (8 ports, 1U,
15A max load, IIRC). The 9225 is supported by GFS as well; I don't
personally know about the 9211/9212; I suspect they work. ;)
BayTech RPC-3... I forgot the stats on it :(
