Thanks Richard! This looks very usefull. I did search dell's site and
missed this. Is there a good starting point for dell linux info like
this?

I plan to free up an old PE1400 and play with this, but we'll probably
not implement sw raid after all in production for now, until we can get
more comfortable with this.

Thanks again to everyone else who answered as well.

Who were you logged in as when you ran this command? Where you the
Oracle user?

Check the permissions on your directory tree. Remember, you should only
be running dbca as Oracle not joe_user as you are creating new databases
and this is not a normal everyday user task.

Howdy Everyone,
I recently set up a new webserver (RHEL 3 AS with OpenSSH 3.8; ftp
disabled; ssh/sftp enabled) and have some users who use versions of
Dreamweaver that are old enough that they don't include built-in sftp.
There are numerous websites that describe how to set up a tunneled
connection from a Windows machine to the RedHat server through SSH,
including the page:

http://info-center.ccit.arizona.edu/~consult/dwmx.html

I can get the tunnel to work to one of our older linux systems (RH 8
with OpenSSH 3.6), but I can't get the tunneled ftp connection to work
with our new server. There aren't any error messages logged in the
messages or secure logfiles on the server. I've looked at the OpenSSH
version histories online and don't see anything relevant. I've even
compared the sshd configuration files on my servers to no avail. All I
know is that when I try to connect through Dreamweaver, I get the error
message "An FTP error occurred - cannot make connection to host".

Any help with what I presume to be an OpenSSH configuration issue would
be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Matt

You are attmpting to tunnel FTP (not sftp) thru an ssh connection. You
already stated that you have FTP disabled. You need to enable FTP if you
wish to use it...

Yes, the probeall line is now required.

Brian.

Brian,

Thank you. Is the probeall line required? I read about it in
bonding.txt, but I haven't seen the need to insert it.

My problem was that I had bond0 defined and I tried defining bond0:1 not
realizing bond0:0 should have been my first alias.

Thanks again.

I've searched the archives; Karsten gives a partial answer in
   http://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=109040

Quote:
Product management looked at each package and decided
if we should include it in the Enterprise version.
Unfortunately gvim wasn't on the list.

My real question is: Why wasn't it on the list? Could this just be a
simple oversight by product management? If there's a problem with
vim-X11, I'd suspect vim-enhanced would have a similar problem.

Though the vim-X11 package is easily rebuilt (and works), it would be
nice to just install it from the original media.

Since we've bought several RHE-AS/WS contracts, is there a more official
way to request the re-inclusion gvim?

Thanks,
-Bob Arendt

Huh.. guess they haven't found this one to close yet:

Open a support case, refuse to let them close it until you get a
definite yes/no about it's inclusion.

The vim guy here says it doesnt look like it has good coverage
upstream.. [eg it was a hack that hasnt had a lot of code added to it.]
Of course this guy here is quite happy with his vt100 so I dont know how
true it is. If it is true then the resources to fix a 'hack' over
including better enterpise products would og.

First is through bugzilla. The second is with your sales agent. Usually
working it both ways gets an answer.
