Re: Local update repository

Hi list,

I have searched the archives but found no answer to this.

Is it possible to host my own local repository for RHEL3 updates?
Ideally what I would like to do is have all updated packages stored in 1 place on a server on our LAN and keep it synced using rsync overnight.

It is possible to have your own local repository.
Up2date has this funtionality, you can use it to query your own yum repository without rhn.

But you cannot sync with rhn I think, that's the point where the
Proxy or Satellite apps are needed.
So you have to dl the packages by hand and put them on your repo.
But maybe there's another way to do it?

Note:
up2date in the latest version was broken and could not use yum.
Tonight was U3 released which schould have a fixed up2date, have not tried that yet.
