Greetings,
we run httpd with the "worker" mpm model, which results in the server running
multithreaded. If we run one worker with 200 threads, say, NPTL results in
only one entry showing up in PS. This has been the case since NPTL was
introduced (RH9 I believe).
However, after updating our kernel/glibc to the most recently available
RHEL3U2 releases (U3 tests are pending), we're now seeing that each thread
once again has its' own PID, and a subsequent entry in the process list.
Did something change? Is there a way I can verify NPTL is still "active"? Have
other users of multithreaded applications noticed this occur?
Thanks,
