Gary,

Have you tried Update 3?  RHEL 3 Update 3 was just released and I know
it supports many more SATA chipsets.  It may work with your existing
motherboard.

The individual RPM updates for U3 have been released on RHN, but the
ISOs are not yet published.  When the ISOs are published, I recommend
you try them on your motherboard.
