Hello Everyone,
I recently installed MailScanner on my system (RHEL3.0). I originally was using
sendmail but decided to change to postfix. I did not use the redhat-alternatives
to switch services. I configured postfix with cyrus-imapd. Everything seems to
be working fine as far as sending and recieving but I'm wondering if I'm still
sending mail via sendmail. Note the following email that I sent.
Sep 24 09:26:45 srv01 sendmail[6340]: i8ODQi1h006340: to=mailscanner jiscmail ac
.uk, ctladdr=jmarc1 jemconsult biz (56641/321), delay=00:00:01, xdelay=00:00:01,
mailer=relay, pri=31107, relay=[127.0.0.1] [127.0.0.1], dsn=2.0.0, stat=Sent (O
k: queued as F36C91BF41)
Now I realize that both sendmail and postfix use the sendmail command. when I
issued a ls -l /usr/sbin/sendmail I recieved the following link:
[root srv01 alternatives]# ls -l /usr/sbin/sendmail
lrwxr-xr-x 1 root root 21 Jun 15 05:57 /usr/sbin/sendmail -> /e
tc/alternatives/mta
Since I did not use this method should I change the symbolic link to:
/usr/sbin/sendmail.postfix
