The NIC is built-in to the motherboard and according to lspci is a
3Com Corporation 3c905C-TX/TX-M [Tornado] (rev 78)

The motherboard is from Dell. The machine is a Dell Precision 530.

There is nothing amazing in this computer. We have a Radeon 7000/VE graphics
card, and unused USB and Firewire connectors. It's got a CDROM drive, and
a keyboard and mouse.

The computer is hooked to a switched 10/100MB switch.

/etc/sysctl.conf is default.

We must have at least 5 other identical computers to this one, so I'm not
sure why this particular computer is having problems. Also, when sendmail
stops working, it is actually trying to talk to localhost, so I'm not sure
if it's a NIC problem. Also, when the database stops working, it is using
a local disk.
