and similar messages for other png files.

Did try to apply the latest updates on libpng, gtk-2.0 etc,
but no avail.

Any offer of idea?

Peter, You might want to look at the following thread from the fedora-test list where someone had the same problem.

One person had a bad package upgrade leaving two different gtk2 instances.
