What about XFS? This is a stable, fast and reliable file system and works great with large files. One problem with RedHat and EXT3 in the enterprise is the 8TB file system limit. XFS seems to have no problems with RedHat and 12TB. Too bad it is not supported by RedHat.

You can say that... I had two or three cases where the system crashed and reiserfs was unable to repair. Every fsck seemed to make it worse and we ended up formatting the disk (in ext3) and do a file level restore from backup.
