lm_sensors on IBM xSeries hardware

RHEL 3 uses an older version of lm_sensors (2.6.5). Because of a
serious issue with IBM thinkpads, lm_sensors is pretty skittish about
IBM's in general (i.e., sensors-detect suggests you hit Ctl-C if
you're using any IBM product). I believe the latest version of
lm_sensors (2.9.1) has done away with that warning.
I'd like to hear if anyone has any experiences, good or bad, using
lm_sensors on RHEL 3/taroon with IBM xSeries hardware.
Thanks,
Michael
