Re: RHEL3 with 2.6 kernel

I got my RedHat 8.0 working with 2.6 kernel (self-built) in about 4 hours. I did not enjoy the experience and the result while almost usable was not worth keeping, so I went to Fedora shortly after.
I assume you would get about the same results with RH3.

Does anyone know if the installing the 2.6 kernel that is shipped with RHEL4 on a RHEL3 U4 systems is supported configuration by redhat support?

that is very much unsupported.

with some hacks it can be made to sort of work, but it'll just never
work really well; you really want a 2.6 ready distribution for using a
2.6 kernel.

Is there any reason you won't go to rhel4 entirely ?
