RPM errors

I have a ProLiant DL380 G4 system which is running 
Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS release 3 (Taroon Update 4).
The kernel is Linux 2.4.21-27.ELsmp #1 SMP Wed Dec 1 21:59:02 EST 2004
i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux.

I am using rpm -qa command to check if sendmail is installed on my
system but I get the following errors:-

# rpm -qa | grep -i sendmail

I have not see any of these types of errors before. Can anyone help me
why I am getting these errors and how I can fix these errors?
