Sure, put every bookmark in it's own file, don't use more than 512 bytes per bookmark and waste diskspace ;)
Nah kidding, however i don't think a tipical single user tends to make more than 200 bookmarks which would favor a single file for speed e.a.
Another idea could be to do a max of 200 bookmarks per file, just to keep speed up;
I've got an old P3-500 which works fine, but my harddisk doesn't like a bunch of small files, i think there are a lot users like me with this kind of stuff.
