The following is an outline of the skills and knowledge represented in the training elements of the MM157 MetaMatrix Introduction Course.

Course content

  1. Installation of all MetaMatrix client tools
  2. Capture of information systems' Physical Metadata Model descriptions
  3. Creation of integrated views of disparate i nformation through the use of Virtual Metadata Models
  4. Capture of information systems' Physical Metadata Model descriptions
  5. Creation of integrated views of disparate i nformation through the use of Virtual Metadata Models
    • Through the use of simple transformations, unions, and/or join patterns
    • For re-use or exposure to a client application
  6. Creation of a virtual base layer
  7. Integrate disparate sources through a Union
  8. Creation of Joins across disparate information systems.
  9. Creating a Virtual Procedure (like a stored procedure) to:
    • Model a standard query use-case of a virtual table
    • To expose a standard query use-case as an operation within a web "data" service
    • Allow more explicit management of change
  10. "Top-Down" Modeling of a Virtual XML Document Model to:
    • Comply with a provided XML Schema
    • Expose XML document results from XML or non-XML sources
  11. Creation, deployment, and testing of a Web Service top down and bottom up
