In this form of installation, simply unzip the downloaded zip file to the directory of your choice. You can unzip the platform on any operating system that supports the zip format.
Unzip jboss-eap-4.2.0- to extract the archive contents into the location of your choice. You can do this using the JDK <release>.zipjar tool (or any other ZIP extraction tool).
[vsr]$cd jbeapinstallationdir[vsr]$jar -xvf jboss-eap-4.2.0-<release>.zip
You are done with the installation! You should now have a directory called jboss-eap-4.2. Refer to the Getting Started Guide to understand and explore the Platform Directory Structure.
