The version of jBPM in JBoss Enterprise SOA Platform does not include the jPDL graphical process designer. For visual development of business processes we recommend JBoss Developer Studio, a supported offering for developers that integrates jPDL graphical design tools with a suite of other tools for SOA application development.

Some of the information in this guide relating to graphical authoring of business processes has been written from the point of view of the jPDL graphical process designer. The steps are similar in JBoss Developer Studio, but the JBoss Developer Studio has a wider functionality, integrating many other tools, and more tightly integrated with both JBoss Enterprise SOA Platform and JBoss Enterprise Application Platform.
