1. Major Corrections

Chapter 1. Major Corrections

The following are the major bug fixes and changes released as part of Red Hat Network 4.2.2.

  • An issue has been addressed in which Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 clients could not download packages via an Red Hat Network Proxy 4.2 server when it used an HTTP proxy to reach either Red Hat Network or Red Hat Network Satellite.

  • A bug has been fixed where if you upload a package to Red Hat Network using rhns-proxy-manager, it does not compute the package and sends header_start and header_end to Red Hat Network.

  • When packages appear without links in an errata due to database tables being out of sync, it is possible to force repopulation with new option --force-all-errata.

  • When using the web form to submit a kickstart pre- or post-script that includes any method for expressing string literals (double-angle bracket >> or backslash \), such as here-documents or line continuations, the web form now properly handles special characters upon submission.

  • All custom %post scripts are now run after the default Red Hat Network Satellite scripts, which allows users to remove or edit the contents of the default /etc/motd file with content or files specified by the custom %post script.

  • Links on the Newer Versions -> Relevant Errata page now point to resolvable URLs.

  • When scheduling for a system, all kickstart profile options are now preserved, including Red Hat Network Proxy selection, Package Profile, and Kernel command line options.
