Red Hat has been named one of “The 20 Coolest Cloud Platform Vendors Of The Cloud 100” by CRN, a top news source for solution providers and the IT channel. CRN’s list highlights infrastructure providers who continue to forge ahead building data highways to the cloud while also creating platforms to manage and transfer IT workloads. CRN’s Cloud 100 aims to identify innovative companies in the cloud market across five major cloud categories: cloud platforms, cloud infrastructure, cloud storage, cloud security and cloud software.

Red Hat was recognized for fast developing its OpenShift Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) with a recent unveiling of OpenShift Enterprise – an open, on-premise Private PaaS for businesses to use inside customer data centers or in private, public or hybrid clouds. OpenShift – which is also available to anyone via a hosted service with OpenShift Online or through an open source community project known as OpenShift Origin -- offers a vast choice in languages, frameworks and clouds for application developers.

Red Hat recently announced it will be hosting the first OpenShift Origin Community Day on April 14, 2013, in advance of the OpenStack Design Summit in Portland, Oregon.

Red Hat is proud to be recognized by CRN for our creative efforts in making cloud computing consumable for developers and the enterprise, and plans to continue helping our partners and customers with their open, hybrid approach to the cloud. As with other innovative and emerging open source products, look for Red Hat to bring OpenShift to channel partners in the coming months along with a comprehensive open hybrid cloud portfolio.
