Where’s Red Hat This June?

North America

The fourth-annual Red Hat Summit will take place June 18-20 at the Hynes Convention Center in Boston, Mass. The event will feature keynote speeches from Red Hat President and CEO, Jim Whitehurst; Red Hat CTO, Brian Stevens; Co-Creator of The Simpsons, Joel Cohen; General Manager, IBM Enterprise System Division, Jim Stallings; and CIO, Harvard Medical School, John Halamka. Attendees can choose from eight tracks and select paths that provide a guide to sessions that best fit their organization’s needs. Come to the Summit to meet Red Hat, our partners, our customers and members of the open source community.

The Fedora User Users and Developers Conference (FUDCon) will be held in parallel with the Red Hat Summit in Boston. FUDCon will feature everything from hackfests – where contributors get together to brainstorm, design, prototype and improve free and open source software – to conference sessions. FUDCon is truly a community event where everyone from new users to Linux luminaries meet, mingle and work on new features.

The third international Virtualization Conference and Expo will take place June 23-24 at the Roosevelt Hotel in NYC. Brian Stevens will deliver the keynote address on Monday, June 23. Please visit us in booth #18 and stop by the following Red Hat and JBoss technical sessions:

  • A Lightweight Approach to SOA and BPM in Java Using jBPM

Koen Aers, Lead Developer, Red Hat/JBoss
  • Open Source Penetration and Use in SOA Deployments

Pierre Fricke, Director, Product Line Management, Red Hat

Co-located with the Virtualization Conference and Expo, is the 2008 SOA World Conference and Expo, also taking place at the Roosevelt Hotel in NYC. JBoss, a sponsor of the event, will be located in booth #17 with Feedom OSS, a JBoss partner.

Lee Congdon, CIO of Red Hat, will be speaking at the Burton Group’s 2008 Catalyst Conference at the Manchester Grand Hyatt in San Diego, June 23-27. In his presentation “Open Source Architecture: A Powerful Model for Innovation and Value,” Lee will draw on the needs of today’s CIOs and map the adoption of open source in the enterprise. He will describe the architecture Red Hat has selected for internal application deployment and review the Service Oriented Architecture concepts that underlie the solution.
