Red Hat to Showcase High Availability Server, Partners, and Key Open Source Advocates at Linux World Booth #1320

Red Hat Chairman Bob Young and CTO Michael Tiemann Highlight Partners, Technology, Momentum in Red Hat Presentation Theater

Red Hat, Inc. (Nasdaq:RHAT), the leader in open source Internet infrastructure solutions, today released the schedule for their showcase of open source experts, partners, and demonstrations at the LinuxWorld Conference & Expo located at the San Jose Convention Center in San Jose, California.

At the presentation theater at Red Hat's booth, Red Hat will demonstrate the new Red Hat High Availability Server 1.0, a specialized version of the award-winning Red Hat Linux 6.2 solution. The High Availability Server delivers dynamic load balancing, improved fault tolerance and scalability of TCP/IP based applications. The demonstration will prove that if one server in the cluster fails, another will automatically take over its workload. Presentations times are Aug. 15 and 16 at 1:30 pm and Aug. 17 at 10:30 am.

Also in the presentation theater, Bob Young, co-founder and Chairman, will present "The Secret to the Success of Linux" Aug. 16 at 11:30 am. Michael Tiemann, Red Hat CTO, and Kim Knuttila, VP and GM Client Services, will discuss "Developing Embedded Solutions with Red Hat Linux" Aug. 16 at 11:30 am and Aug. 17 at 12:30 pm. Finally, GNOME experts Owen Taylor and Havoc Pennington will address "GUI Development on Red Hat Linux" Aug. 16 at 10:30 am, Aug. 17 and 18 at 3:30 pm.

The Theater will also feature presentations from the eight partners exhibiting in the Red Hat Partner Pavilion, as well as presentations from Red Hat partners Dell, IBM, and Oracle. Participants in the Partner Pavilion include Acrylis Corporation, Akopia Inc., Allaire Corporation, Digi International, Lotus Development Corporation, Penguin Computing, PentaSafe Security Technologies, and Rackspace.

Additionally, Bob Young will participate in the first annual LinuxWorld Expo Geek Bowl, hosted by Nick Petreley, contributing editor for LinuxWorld and InfoWorld magazines. Two teams of the most notable Open Source personalities, including Bob Young, will compete to test their knowledge of Linux, UNIX and other technical trivia. The Geek Bowl is Aug. 15, 2:30-3:30 pm at the Convention Center. Also on Aug. 15, Bob will participate in an Executive Round Table, hosted by Patricia Sabga, co-anchor of CNNfn's The N.E.W. Show, to discuss key issues in the open source industry at 5:30-6:30pm at the Convention Center.
