Red Hat Certified Security Specialist

A Red Hat® Certified Security Specialist (RHCSS) is a Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE®) whose status is current and who has earned the following Red Hat Certificates of Expertise:

Note: The Red Hat Certificate of Expertise in Server Hardening may be substituted for either the Red Hat Certificate of Expertise in Security: Network Services or Red Hat Certificate of Expertise in Directory Services and Authentication but not both.

Certification details

To achieve certification, a student must have passed these exams:

  • Red Hat Enterprise Security: Network Services Expertise exam (EX333)
  • Red Hat Enterprise Directory Services and Authentication Expertise exam (EX423)
  • Red Hat Enterprise SELinux Policy Administration Expertise exam (EX429)

The following audiences may be interested in earning an RHCSS certification:

  • Red Hat Certified Professionals (RHCPs) who wish to demonstrate deeper security skills on Red Hat Enterprise Linux
  • Security professionals with vendor-neutral security certifications (e.g., isc(2), GIAC) who wish to demonstrate Red Hat-specific implementation skills and knowledge.
