Keynote Speakers Announced for Red Hat's 2013 Government Symposium

Sessions and speakers will discuss the role of open source technology in responding to mission-critical demands

RALEIGH, N.C. -

RALEIGH, N.C.  – October 18, 2013 – Red Hat, Inc. (NYSE: RHT), the world's leading provider of open source solutions, today announced that officials from the Department of Homeland Security, National Security Agency, Department of Veterans Affairs, and NASA, as well as senior leaders from Autonomic Resources and Lockheed Martin, are scheduled to speak at the annual Red Hat Government Symposium. The event will be held Nov. 6, 2013, at the Newseum in Washington, D.C.

This annual event will bring together more than 350 government IT and business professionals to discuss how open source technology is driving innovation and assisting federal agencies in meeting the demands placed on them by the Office of Management and Budget. Attendees will be welcomed to the 2013 Symposium by Red Hat’s executive vice president of Global Sales and Services, Arun Oberoi.

Keynote speakers scheduled for the Red Hat Government Symposium include:

In addition to the keynote addresses, the Symposium will feature panel discussions on topics ranging from managing OpenStack and Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) clouds; to changing application delivery with OpenShift by Red Hat, Red Hat’s Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) offering; considerations and best practices in consuming government cloud services; middleware platforms for integration and BPM; big data as a service; and security. Hands-on, technical labs will cover OpenShift by Red Hat, Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform, and Red Hat JBoss BRMS.
