Analysis: Open source NFV innovation for telecoms

To keep up with the ever-growing demand for network services, telecom operators (CSPs) will need to transform their networks to deliver new services, improve customer satisfaction, and lower the costs of building and operating their networks. The next couple of years will see many large CSPs implement open network technologies on Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) platforms for a wide variety of use cases. The key element of NFV is the ability of the network/ telecom industry to adopt the rapid innovation cycle of the IT market by enlisting an ecosystem of independent software vendors and the open source community to develop new revenue producing services in a cost-effective manner.
