Global
Don’t miss the global Red Hat Virtual Experience on Wednesday, January 26. It’s a complimentary online forum available for the first time ever in nine languages. The event will feature Red Hat experts, partners, customers and the open source community discussing a variety of topics ranging from cloud computing and virtualization to platform, middleware and management technologies. The Red Hat Virtual Experience will include:
- Keynotes from Red Hat visionaries
- More than 40 unique sessions
- Access to Red Hat product experts and partners
- Real-world perspectives from Red Hat customers
- Collaboration with the open source community
- Resource library
- Networking opportunities, including Q&A sessions

North America
Red Hat President and CEO, Jim Whitehurst, will deliver the keynote address at Best Practices in Application Modernization, on Tuesday, January 18. Presented by Government Technology, this free event will be held in Sacramento, CA and is open to all public-sector employees. It will include remarks from Adrian Farley, CTO of the State of California. In addition to Whitehurst’s keynote “Trends in Modernization”, Red Hat’s Alex Heublein, director of solutions and strategy, Red Hat Professional Services, will participate in a panel discussion moderated by Adrian Farley, CTO of the State of California.
Red Hat is sponsoring the CIO Executive Leadership Roundtable in Phoenix, AZ on January 19. This is a half-day event designed exclusively for CIOs/IT leaders to discuss the theme “The CIO as a Transformational Leader: Business Transformation Through Innovation and Leadership.” Gordon Haff, cloud evangelist at Red Hat, will participate in a panel on cloud computing entitled, “How Cloudy is Your IT Strategy” scheduled for 10:30-11:15 a.m. For more information and to register, please visit here.
Washington Navy Yard will hold a One-Day Technology Exposition on Thursday, January 20 from 9:30-1:00 p.m. The event will be held in Washington, DC in the cafeteria of building 22 at the Washington Navy Yard and is supported through the NAVFAC CIO’s office. For more information, please visit here.
Red Hat will be at the 2011 Military Health System Conference on January 24-27 in National Harbor, MD. The conference focuses on sharing knowledge and achieving breakthrough performance in health-care delivery, research, education and training. Each day will feature a specific educational theme with all plenary and breakout sessions aligned to furthering the goals of the Quadruple Aim and the associated Strategic Imperatives.
Visit Red Hat’s booth at AFCEA West 2011 in San Diego on January 25-27. AFCEA West is the largest event on the West Coast for communications, electronics, intelligence, information systems, imaging, military weapon systems, aviation, shipbuilding, and more.
The Fedora Project will host its North American Fedora Users and Developers Conference (FUDCon) on January 28-31 in Tempe, AZ on the campus of Arizona State University. This is the annual Fedora conference in the North American region of the world. Red Hat is the primary sponsor of the conference which will include a large number of sessions aimed at Fedora users, developers, packagers, translators, designers, and enthusiasts of all skill levels.
